Jessica Hariwijaya, MMT, MT-BC
Neurologic Music Therapist
Jessica holds a Master's in Music Therapy from Temple University and a Bachelor's in Music Therapy from Universitas Pelita Harapan. She began her career in 2017 as a neurologic music therapist in Indonesia, where she played a pioneering role in establishing the country's first medical music therapy program at Siloam International Hospital. Throughout her career, Jessica has worked with patients across various medical specialties, including oncology, cardiology, and pediatrics, with a particular focus on neurologic and neurodegenerative diseases.
As a founding member of the National Association of Music Therapy in Indonesia (INAMTA), Jessica has contributed significantly to the development of the field in her home country. She has also presented her clinical work and advocacy efforts at both national and international conferences.
Before joining MedRhythms, Jessica worked as a Research Fellow at the Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she coordinated and supported research studies on post-stroke patients and premature infants in the NICU. She is dually certified in Neurologic Music Therapy and NICU Music Therapy.
Currently based in New Jersey, Jessica works as a clinician at Hackensack Meridian JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute in Edison, NJ.
Outside of her professional life, she enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends. After work, you will likely find her snuggling with her two cats—if they’ll let her!
