Owen McCarthy

President and Founder

Owen is the President and co-founder of MedRhythms, which he intends to lead with compassion and a commitment to excellence. Owen is passionate about solving problems, seeking out challenges, and helping people. He is determined to provide patients across the globe with the services necessary to improve walking ability and regain their independence. Owen started MedRhythms as an experienced entrepreneur with a MBA degree from Harvard Business School.

Owen has oriented his career around addressing world problems through innovative, entrepreneurial solutions that positively influence people's lives. He has worked in water treatment, additive manufacturing, tissue regeneration, and higher education.

He is currently pioneering new approaches to healthcare by serving as the President of a leading digital therapeutics company, the Co-Chair of the Reimbursement Working Group within the Digital Therapeutics Alliance, and the voice of the digital therapeutics industry in the World Health Organization’s Roster of Experts in Digital Health. His entrepreneurial experience officially began in 2013 when he served on the founding team for the 3D printing company Voxel8, where he worked in business development. Prior to Voxel8, Owen worked as an intrapreneur in sales at Ashland Inc., doubling the size of a new focus area of the company.

Additionally, Owen is the Vice-Chair of the University of Maine Board of Visitors, where he serves as a strategic advisor to the President of the university. On the weekends, Owen is an avid basketball player, reluctant runner, and a passionate University of Maine Black Bear fan from his home in Gorham, Maine.
